A Judge’s Plea for Pot →

Quote:

Inhaled marijuana is the only medicine that gives me some relief from nausea, stimulates my appetite, and makes it easier to fall asleep. The oral synthetic substitute, Marinol, prescribed by my doctors, was useless. Rather than watch the agony of my suffering, friends have chosen, at some personal risk, to provide the substance. I find a few puffs of marijuana before dinner gives me ammunition in the battle to eat. A few more puffs at bedtime permits desperately needed sleep.

Quote: On top of that, medical marijuana is also credited in reducing Jane’s chronic high blood pressure. With the introduction of more potent cannabis, Jane’s physician discontinued her use of pharmaceutical blood pressure medication soon after Jane’s 64th birthday.

Sexual Disability and Marijuana by C.A. →

From a paraplegic woman:

All I know is it heightens my sense of touch to the point of achieving orgasm when we make love. It truly works. I hope you can understand what this meant to me after ten years. We were recently caught with our marijuana and given five years probation, with the usual drug testing. Because the state of Missouri in no way recognizes the use of marijuana for medical purposes, I am once again crippled. It is almost unbearable having this disability forced on you when you know there is another option.

An easy read…

The study of 130,000 older patients found that those using Vioxx had an 80% increased risk of hospital admission for congestive heart failure. Those using non-selective NSAIDS had a 40% increased risk, and those using Celebrex had the same rate of heart failure as people who had never used NSAIDS.

Taming THC by Ethan Russo - why you should read it, part 3.

Acne.

Glossary: EO’s = Essential Oils, Attenuate = reduce severity, limonene is in lemons and lemon balm.  Isotretinoin = Accutane, a acne treatment that has been removed from the market for causing Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Quote:  Given the observed ability of CBD to be absorbed transcutaneously, it offers great promise to attenuate the increased sebum production at the pathological root of acne.

Quote: Cannabis terpenoids could offer complementary activity.  Two citrus EOs primary composed of limonene inhibited Propionibacterium acnes, the key pathogen in acne… more potently than triclosan.

Quote: Considering the known minimal toxicities of CBD and these terpenoids and the above findings, new acne therapies utilizing whole CBD-predominant extracts, via multi-targeting… may present a novel and promising therapeutic approach that poses minimal risks in comparison to isotretinoin.

Taming THC by Ethan Russo - why you should read it, part 2.

Lemonade including the limonene-rich rind is an antidote to acute intoxication from THC.

Russo mentions a recipe for Agua Limon from Morocco by Morse and Mamane.

Other antidotes are: Calamus root, Pine nuts and Black pepper.

I am sure you know someone who can’t tolerate being high, but needs the benefits of cannabinoids for their health.  Could also help someone who needs relief to work, but a high might get them fired or arouse suspicion.  I’ve tried lemon with the rind and black pepper… it is working for me.

If you google a Agua Limon recipe to use, make sure it is one that utilizes lemons not limes.

I am using lemon curd… very tart but yummy.
